Elephantine Island

Elephantine Island is one of the Nile islands of Egypt and is located in Aswan. It includes the Movenpick Hotel, agricultural areas mostly of palm trees, and remnants of stone temples from different ages, and the Aswan Museum, which is located in the southeastern part of the island, the museum building was built in 1898 as the headquarters of the chief engineer of the Aswan Reservoir Sir” William Wilcox”.

Elephantine is the name given by the Greeks to the island facing the city of Aswan or Aswan Island, which is considered one of the largest islands of Aswan, which lies north of the First Cataract, and which took on a long historical significance that began from the pre-dynastic era until the Roman era.
